On Friday 2 June at Redditch Borough FC, HWFRS took on West Mercia Police in the Copa Del Bradley Cup.
This annual event is in memory of Firefighter Del Bradley who sadly passed away seven years ago.
His partner at that time along with Del’s friends come down for every game from Burton upon Trent to present the trophy to the winners.
Covid wiped out two of the years so in seven years HWFRS has won all five games played.
As normal the games between the two services are always hard-fought and sometimes intense.
HWFRS ran out 2-0 winners with second-half goals by Josh Warmington and Jamie Walsh.
A raffle was held on behalf of The Fire Fighters Charity, the British Heart Foundation and Flint House Police Rehabilitation which is the police equivalent to our charity.
£716.70 was raised on the night which will be split between the three charities.
A big thank you to Redditch Borough FC for donating its facilities for the evening.
A massive thank you to Wayne (Chuck) Berry for his effort every year to organise this charity event and even more this year as he’s now retired from the service but still put in the effort to carry on this tradition.
