Malvern Fire Station is welcoming the public to its first open day in four years on Sunday 3 September.
There will be plenty to entertain all ages from 12 midday until 4pm with a chance to meet the firefighters while looking around the station and its vehicles.
The response to a road traffic collision and a Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service aerial ladder platform are set to be among the demonstrations.
Youngsters are invited to bring their daredevil cuddly toys to try out the teddy bear zip line with a bouncy castle also on offer for children.
Other emergency services will be represented in West Mercia Police and the Midlands Air Ambulance with fire safety mascot Welephant also due to visit the Worcester Road station.
There will be a recruitment tent with advice for potential on-call firefighters and a big raffle alongside food and drink stalls in the first open day at Malvern since 2019.
Station Commander Sam O’Brien said: “It’s a great chance for people to come down and see what we do as well as what the station offers.”
Malvern’s hillside location is reflected in its diverse vehicle fleet which is geared up for potentially challenging rescue call-outs.
It boasts two Scania fire engines and a Mercedes sprinter vehicle for rescues as well as a Land Rover and an Argocat that are used for off-road firefighting and transporting personnel, casualties and equipment in remote locations.
Entry will be free on Sunday 3 September as is any fire safety advice.
