Pershore Fire Station’s animal rescue team got George back on his hooves in a call-out to stables in Alvechurch.
The on-call crew was joined by Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service colleagues from Redditch Fire Station at stables in Radford Road.
George, a cob horse in his 20s weighing around 600kg, was struggling to get up in his stable.
He was eventually guided back to his hooves by the crews with the help of a neighbouring farmer using a telehandler.
George was left in the care of the attending vet and reported as “happily grazing as though nothing ever happened” not long after the incident.
The crews were called out at 11.49am with the last crew leaving the scene at 2.27pm.
