Fire Control
The prime responsibility of Fire Control is to answer 999 calls and extract critical information from callers in order mobilise the correct resources, officers and equipment to emergency incidents. These incidents range from fires, road traffic collisions, water rescues to hazardous materials, fire alarms and entrapments.

Fire Control manage all emergency incidents for the counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire. In addition to emergency incidents, Fire Control staff carry out a large amount of administration to support the functions of the Service.
Fire Control are constantly monitoring the requirements of all incidents and deploy available resources to meet the risks within our communities. This includes moving resources around the two counties to ensure we always have available resources to deal with emergency incidents.
Fire Control utilise various other systems and software to support them in managing incidents. This includes resource availability systems, weather monitoring, traffic cameras and road network information.
Fire Control work closely with Police, Ambulance and other external agencies and have mutual support arrangements in place with our neighbouring Fire and Rescue Services. Neighbouring Fire Control rooms work together to deploy resources across Service borders when required.
Fire Control work a shift based system comprising of 12 hour shifts, ensuring the critical function is maintained 24/7.

Controlled burns (bonfires)
If you are having a controlled burn we would kindly ask that you inform Fire Control immediately prior to starting. This ensures Fire Control are aware of the exact location and timings just in case we receive a call from a member of the public reporting a fire in the area.
Fire Alarm Tests
If you are conducting a fire alarm test or drill, please inform Fire Control so are aware of the test.
