Tell us about your role

I am Project Manager for the delivery of the new Fire Control system across four Fire Services, working in collaboration with Shropshire and County Durham & Darlington Fire and Rescue Services and Cleveland Fire Brigade. This new system will provide up to date technology to not only support the call handling and mobilising capability for the fire controls, but also integrated Mobile Data and Incident Command software for the operational crews.

I also lead for Hereford and Worcester on the Home Office Emergency Services Mobile Communications Program (ESMCP) which will deliver new mission critical communications voice and data across all the emergency services.

Tell us more about your fire service career

I began my fire service career with Hereford & Worcester as a firefighter (control) in 1986. I progressed through the control room roles to control room manager before moving across to work in project roles in 2017. Since then I have worked on a variety of projects centred around collaboration, communications and new buildings.

What makes HWFRS a great place to work?

HWFRS values and invests in its people and appreciates that diversity of thought and style is important to its overall effectiveness in delivering the service to our communities. This means that we all have the opportunity to continue to learn and develop new skills throughout our careers.
