Reducing fire, road and water deaths and injuries is about educating people to prevent the behaviours that can cause these incidents to happen in the first place.
We teach pupils the importance of road safety and the impact of careless behaviour, so they can keep themselves (and others) safe. Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service offers YOUR IMPACT.
Your Impact is a free multi-agency road safety scheme aimed at reducing death and serious injury amongst young road users in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. The scheme is aimed at Year 10 students who will currently be road users, whether car passengers, pedestrians, cyclists, and may soon become young drivers.
In addition to our fire, water and road safety resources you might be looking for other material to help teach important safety lessons for many different situations.
To make it easier, we’ve partnered with StayWise. Staywise is an on-line safety platform developed by the National Fire Chiefs Council in collaboration with other emergency services partners including the National Police Chiefs Council, the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives and the Royal Life Saving Society.
It has a free online library packed full of educational resources and activities from the UK’s leading emergency services and safety-focused organisations making it easy for you to find trusted materials that provide learning opportunities to help keep children safe.
Here you will find links to the national curriculum with teaching notes and a variety of support tasks.
StayWise is the Teacher’s answer to everything safety related in the curriculum. Please watch the Teacher Tutorial Video to see how you can best use the resources for your pupils.
You will then be able to access everything you need on the StayWise Website.
