Request
To whom it may concern,
I am writing on behalf of … undertaking work for Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water requesting data regarding carrying out updated fire fighting and mains water use assessment within your jurisdiction.
This is to support the calculation of fire mains usage value for application in the water balance reporting – to include both firefighting and operational use.
Specifically we would appreciate the following information:
- Volume of water used at primary (FDR1), secondary (FDR3), and chimney fires. – This could include volumes per fire or an estimate for the volume used per type of fire.
- Any information on larger fire incidents – containing 15-minute flow data and duration from incidents if possible
- Daily average consumption from each type of station (day crewed, wholetime, etc).
- Fire station use with meter readings if available
- Volume of water used in installation/commission of hydrants.
- Any assumptions and volumes used in testing fire hydrants, fire sprinkler systems and fire mains
- Records of any known fire mains or fire sprinkler systems (and GIS locations if possible) and their approximate water usage
- Amount of water used in charitable events.
- Number and type of appliances used in each fire incident
- Capacity of tankers hold/ other appliances hold
- Flow rates of the appliances in attendance
- Volume of water used for fire training, and the frequency of fire training across stations
- Any records of fire training on external sites (and the source of any water used)
- Recording of refilling locations and any refilling volumes
Please feel free to reach out to me directly should you have any questions or require further clarification.
We look forward to your response,
Kind Regards
Response
