Hungarian flag flies to celebrate fire station’s diverse work force

Flags flying at fire station

Evesham Fire Station has been celebrating the importance of having a diverse work force.

With a Hungarian firefighter on their watch, the station took advantage of the designated double flag day for government buildings to allow the Hungarian flag to be flown under the British standard in recognition of Hungary’s national day on Tuesday, August 20.

FF Zoltan Kalmar has been at Evesham for two years and is following in the footsteps of his father who was a firefighter in Hungary for 30 years.

“Having a Hungarian firefighter on our watch, we thought it only right to do this and celebrate the Importance of a diverse work force,” said Watch Commander Nick Tuckwell.
